c’mon Target, you’re letting me down
When I first saw that Target was selling Converse shoes, I was excited. I saw the shoes, and they have some really cute stuff. Then I saw the prices. Most of the shoes are $30-$35, which is hardly cheaper than Converse shoes would be elsewhere, but more importantly if I wanted to pay $30+ for shoes, I wouldn’t be shopping at Target. Converse also has a clothing line at Target, but at $35 for a pair of jeans I might as well be in a department store. Payless has the same problem with their designer collections, and in my opinion it undermines the whole point of the store. I love that Target invests in having good designs, but talent doesn’t always come from a recognized name, and it doesn’t need to come with an elevated price.
If you actually want designer goods from Target at discount prices, the place to look is last collection’s clearance. This collection isn’t the type of clothes that I would actually wear, but I can imagine the pieces below looking really great on someone with a more sophisticated style.

Just a heads up to you – Target isn’t the cheap place that it used to be. It has amazing stuff – hell, why else would people put it on their bridal registries!!! Target is great and if you’re looking for a cheap store, go to walmart.
yeah i know Target doesn’t have rock bottom prices, but they have such good designs on virtually everything and it’s affordable. Walmart is a place to get things you need, but not to fall in love with everything in sight. and i hate supporting the evil corporate giant. plus there’s a Target Greatland really near my house so i go there all the time.
Hey they have very similar converse-like shoes at wet seal for only $19.99, and they came in a few colors.
